Honestly, when I first started playing, I was confused. I was just staring at the screen, like, "where are these chickens?" I couldn't find ANY of them. And then I realized, oh my god, you don't just *find* them, you have to *make* them appear! It's like, a puzzle game where the whole environment is the puzzle. You gotta move blocks, redirect lava, dig tunnels, all this stuff to reveal the chickens. It's so much more clever than just spotting things.
There was this one stage, I think it was called "Ember Peak," and there was a chicken hidden behind a waterfall of lava. I was like, how am I supposed to get that? And then I noticed these little levers. I pulled one, and it diverted the lava flow, cooling it down into solid blocks, and then I could just walk across and grab the chicken! I actually gasped, lol. It felt so good, like I really outsmarted the game.
The little "cluck" sound when you find one is super satisfying too, not annoying at all. And the way the blocks kinda smoothly slide when you manipulate them, it’s just really well done. I totally lost track of time playing it last night. Looked at the clock and it was like, 1:30 AM. Oops. I don't usually get hooked on puzzle games like this, but this one is different. It's like a really chill escape room, but in a pixel world, and with chickens.
