Giant Monster Rampage
About Giant Monster Rampage
Dude you are not gonna believe this game. It's 11 PM and I literally cannot sleep because my brain is still buzzing from Giant Monster Rampage. Remember how your cousin Mark told me it was like, "elite sniper, defeat crazy monsters, protect humanity?" That description is like calling pizza "bread with toppings." Technically true but it misses EVERYTHING that makes it good.
Honestly, I was ready for some dumb shooting game. But it's SO much more. The first time I played, I lined up a shot on this huge monster, like a big scaly dog thing they call a "Grumbleguts," thinking I'd pop its head. I shot it, and instead of exploding or roaring, it just kinda... *wobbled*. And then it slowly, like really slowly, turned and started lumbering *away* from the city center, making this weird, deep, almost sad hum. It knocked over a street light with its tail, but it wasn't angry, just clumsy. That's when I knew. This isn't about killing them.
Your "sniper gun" isn't for killing, it's for like, *guiding* them. It's a puzzle game! You're not protecting humanity by blasting these things, your trying to protect the *city* from them accidentally stepping on stuff. Like, there was this one stage where a "Titanus Rex" was heading straight for the power plant, and I had to shoot these specific energy conduits on its back to make it turn left, then hit a water tower to make it stop and drink, so it wouldn't smash the turbines. It's like a giant, city-sized game of "Lemmings" but with kaiju!
I swear I played for three hours straight without realizing it. I looked up and it was almost 2 AM. The little details are awesome too, like how the ground shakes and your scope wiggles when a big one walks by, or the way the little human cars just scatter like ants. I even figured out that if you hit the Grumbleguts in its big, squishy belly with a charged shot, it actually *rolls* for a bit, which is super useful for getting it over a bridge without it breaking. I'm not sure why but that made me laugh out loud.
It was a bit confusing at first because the tutorial doesn't really explain the *real* goal, you just think you're shooting. But once it clicks, it's just so clever. I don't usually like puzzle games but this was different. You actually feel smart when you figure out how to divert a monster perfectly. You gotta get this. Your gonna love it.
